By: Zachary Munro , 5 months ago This gym has recently been suffering from very harsh grading that can be discouraging to a lot of climbers. This CRG has always been graded a tad harshly, but now it has gotten a little out of hand. The V1s there are V3s at most any other gym. If you have been climbing for fewer than 2 years, there are probably only going to be a handful of problems you can climb. I worked at this gym for over a year and it was a great place to be. The staff is incredibly friendly and thoughtful, it has great equipment and fun climbs. But the grading has gotten so skewed compared to other gyms that there are not many climbs for people with less experience and you are not going to climb the grades you are used to.
By: Finnegan P , 5 months ago Best rock gym I've ever been to and far better than any of it's competitors in the area. I recommend to anyone who enjoys bouldering, top rope climbing, or lead climbing. Always satisfactorily challenging.
By: Paulo , 3 years ago I am a member of the Worcester branch and CRG is probably the best climbing gym chain I have seen. However, the Cambridge unit feels a bit dated. Carpets and crash pads aren't to the same standard as some of the newer units. The routes in the gym are amazing! Definitely recommend giving it a try.
By: Manuel Morais , 5 years ago I’ve been coming here for over three years now and I can comfortably say that this is easily the beat climbing gym in the greater Boston area. The staff is friendly, helpful and create an atmosphere that Is reassuring to new climbers who may be intimidated. They set a range of boulders that will leave both newer and veteran climbers satisfied. The setting is uniformly excellent and the staff excludes at setting boulders that are both fun and challenging. The training facilities are great and have anything you’d need to help you train for that outdoor project. The community is very supportive and have me become a better climber that I would have on my own. Overall this is an excellent gym for climbers of any level.
